I'm Sean (he/him), and I'm a design nerd who loves to learn, create, and explore. I believe that design should be a fun, thoughtful endeavor, focused on crafting empathetic products with a strong and unique voice.
A burned CD of Macromedia Fireworks is to blame for all of this.
As a teenager it turned my love of technology, street art, and gig posters into a passion for creativity and design. Discovering theatre in high school, I found a fascination with storytelling that eventually lead to me blending all of these loves together to pursue theatrical lighting design in college. After working as a freelance lighting designer, I left the long hours behind and began working an office job. Eventually a global pandemic forced me to rethink how these various passions and pursuits fit into my life - which lead to me graduating from General Assembly with a certificate in User Experience Design.
I now work as both a Senior Instructional Associate back at General Assembly, where I help new designers learn the joys and frustrations of design, and as a freelance designer creating experiences from medieval fantasy cafes to educational software.
I’m lucky to live in shockingly green Portland, Oregon. When I’m not in front of a computer I can be found learning how to make pasta, drinking funky wine on a patio, playing D&D, or browsing the design section of a bookstore.
